An Island Escape

If you’ve been dreaming of an island getaway, April  in Tenerife is your chance to make that dream come true! Tenerife, an island south of Spain that’s part of the beautiful Spanish Canary Islands, is just waiting for you with crystal blue waters and sunny days.

April in Tenerife experiences low travel. So you’ll find cheaper flights, resorts, and lesser crowds. Luckily on Tenerife, the weather year-round is warm and sunny. You may not experience the scorching heat of summer, in April you’ll still be able to relax comfortably on a beach! Just start picturing your international adventure of ultimate relaxation while you sip your favorite drink on a sandy sunny beach.

Tenerife is amazingly versatile

Out of all the Canary Islands, Tenerife is the largest and has some of the most varied vacation attractions. If you go to the south of the island, one of the most popular and warmer locations, you’ll be surrounded by world famous pristine golden sandy beaches like the Playa de las Americas. This beach is perfect during the day for relaxing beach day, and stays lively into the night with lots of nightclubs, indoor and outdoor bars. The festive music playing from everywhere will have you throwing a mini dance party in the sand! The beach is also very close to the famous Golf las Americas resort, if you feel like playing a few holes with amazing views!

If you’re looking for a more adventurous beach day, many of the beaches on Tenerife are perfect for water sports like windsurfing and jet skiing. You’ll also be able to find lots of boat cruises that will take you dolphin or whale watching.

Everything’s Better Under the Sea

Due to Tenerife’s nice climate year-round, you’ll see plenty of wildlife during your April visit. For an even closer look at the oceans, you can book one of the coolest sea adventures you’ll ever come across. Which is very unique to the Canary Islands. On Tenerife, you can participate in the one-in-a-lifetime experience of having a dive in a submarine!

Submarine Safaris SL is a company that’s been taking tourists on dives for many years, giving people the chance to see things like schools of fish, rays, dolphins, whales, octopus and more in their natural habitats! The submarine is a bright yellow color, and considering that Tenerife is a very popular English vacation spot, I think playing the Beatles’ Yellow Submarine on your way to the marina is a very appropriate way to prepare for making some unforgettable memories! Make sure to book online in advance for a discount!

Relaxation on Tenerife

After you’ve experiences the beautiful beaches and lively lifestyle of the south side of the island. Venture to the north side of Tenerife for a whole different type of vacation. With only about an hour of driving, you’ll find a much calmer lifestyle. With both groomed and ungroomed beaches, you’ll be able to explore for seashells, or park a beach chair for relaxation. The northern beaches make for stunning views as many are hidden within coves or cliffs. Even volcanic black sand which makes for a beautiful contrast to the crystal blue water. (Pro Tip) Just make sure to pack your beach shoes as the black sand beaches get very hot!

Head Inland for another Adventure

For such a small island, Tenerife has an amazing variety of activities. If you want to take a break from the beaches, you’ll be able to head to the center of the island to Teide national park. Like all of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has volcanic origins and Teide is the national park. With the last eruption occurring over 100 years ago, the land has had plenty of time to settle and you’ll feel very safe as you walk through strange land formations like cooled lava rivers.

Pack your bathing suit!

With sunny April weather on your side, your spring trip will have you tanned and living out your perfect adventure!
