The Music Festival of a Lifetime

When the month of April rolls around, you start to see new life popping up all around you. The trees turn green, new shoots are starting to appear on the ground, and people everywhere. You are starting to feel the new warmth and stretch your legs to head outside after a long winter.

When you get that feeling of spring in your bones, one of the best things to do is celebrate life! And what better way to celebrate life than to immerse yourself in one of the world’s most famous music festivals! During the month of April, the huge Californian festival of Coachella arrives. If you have the chance to participate in the celebration, your spring will never feel the same again!

More about Coachella

It is one of the longest running music festivals in the United States. Coachella started partying like it’s 1999 in, believe it or not, 1999. The original show was founded and organized by two men who wanted to create a festival like no other.

By choosing a desert valley in Indio California, splitting the festival into two identical 3-day-weekends, and showcasing artists from a huge variety of genres, the two men succeeded in creating a truly unique music festival. Although your experience won’t be exactly the same as it would have been in 1999. You’ll still be completely immersed in a new festival world and hear from many different styles of artists, just like the founders intended!

Great Music

Over the years, Coachella has pleased the masses with headliners like Lady Gaga, Guns ‘N Roses, Drake, AC/DC, Paul McCartney, and many many more. With around 50 artists playing at the festival each day, you’ll be able to find some great music you love!

While the music is what truly makes Coachella special, the festival is also extremely unique because of its geographic location. Indio is a medium sized city in Southern California. It was chosen as the home of the festival partially because of the available space at the Empire Polo Club where the festival is physically held. And partially because the festival founders wanted a place where people would be far enough away from home that the entire experience would be immersive and feel like a true adventure. When you make the trip out to Indio, you’ll be glad the founders decided on the location. Especially when the community of the festival welcomes you with open arms and you’re able to meet and celebrate with festival goers just like you who are camping out under the open stars.

Getting to and staying at Coachella

The most important thing you have to do before packing up and heading out to Coachella, is getting your ticket! As it is one of the world’s most popular music festivals, you have to be on your toes and plan in advance to know exactly when tickets are going on sale as they often sell out the day they’re released.

Tickets!

Once you find out the day and time, you’ll be able to visit Coachella’s website on that day. Where you get a place in a virtual line, and buy your tickets to the festival! You’ll have an option of choosing a ticket to the first or second weekend. But both which have the same musical lineup. Also, you will be purchasing your camping and parking passes, tickets for shuttles to and from the festival, and even passes for attending the onsite restaurant for a 4-course meal and complementary cocktail and access to a beautiful Rose Garden!

General Admission and a Car Camping Pass are two great options that will make sure you have easy access to and from the festival. it also provides a comfortable place to sleep at night where you can safely store all your belongings! A Tent Camping Pass is another great option! This is one of the best ways to make new friends with your camping neighbors and truly embrace the spirit and community of the Coachella Music Festival.

Let the Fun Begin!

Once you’ve made your way to the festival, set up camp, and made yourself comfortable. Between seeing your favorite musicians, there are endless things for you to do and see on the festival grounds. Find some huge art installations, often interactive and recycled from Burning Man festivals. For souvenir and shopping needs, the Boardwalk area will keep you covered. It will also satisfy your hunger with a large group of delicious and often local food venders.

See the Sights!

Your fellow festival goers and the festival grounds themselves will also be a great sight to see! Coachella is a great place to dress up in costume. Or dress in whatever you find comfortable in the desert heat, and people often take advantage of their chance to choose whatever clothing they’d like to wear.

The festival is also known as a celebrity attraction. So, don’t be surprised if you run into famous actors, musicians, models, and more! The grounds are filled with sights typical of beautiful Southern California and you’ll have picturesque views of mountains in the distance, with grand gardens and sprawling lawns for lounging on the grounds themselves.

Start planning!

If you’re ready to create an April adventure you’ll never forget, start looking at those ticket dates for the next Coachella! If you missed the current year, don’t fret as the festival is known for expanding and improving itself each year, so your tickets to the following year might be even easier to get for an equally amazing adventure! So, check those ticket sale dates, prep your camping gear, charge your camera, and get ready to camp out in the desert with some great music for the time of your life!
