If you are looking for a big city vacation in April, there is no better place to go than Tokyo, Japan. In early April, Tokyo and the surrounding area are usually covered in the world-famous cherry blossoms. Since the blooming season is so unpredictable, Tokyo is one of the best spots to be in Japan. Firstly, you will have endless big city attractions that Tokyo is unique for, and secondly, if seeing the blossoms is your entire travel motive, you will have access to great public transportation and trains that will transport you quickly to other regions of Japan if the blooms are a little early or late this season.

California is one of the most beautiful American states! It has endless coastline, striking mountains, and great weather for most of the year. In April, California is famous not only for the wonderful weather and scenery, but also for Coachella. The music festival for all genres, that has been running since 1999. Tickets aren’t cheap, but it’s a once in a life time experience if you camp out in the Indio valley and truly become part of a musical community. Coachella is also a hot spot for art and has many visual and physical installations. With endless music and exciting surroundings, plus very warm weather, you’ll be partying all weekend long!

Visiting Lima, Peru in April will put you just at the end of rainy season. That means nice weather, and much smaller tourist crowds. With less people around, you’ll have free reign when it comes to sampling the outdoor adventures Lima has to offer. With opportunities to parasail, paraglide, sand board, surf, and more, you’ll have the time of your life. While in Peru, you can plan a trip to the ancient city of Cusco and nearby Machu Picchu. Both are at a very high elevation (making Lima a better mainstay place so you don’t get elevation sickness!) Plan a short trip by flying to Cusco and taking the time to hike around Machu Picchu.
